Fiumara d’Arte is a singular project created by private will in 1986. Listed among the largest sculpture parks in Europe and officially recognized as a cultural tourist route, it is now one of the most visited attractions for those wishing to discover sites in Sicily off the beaten track.
The project, in continuous movement, currently has twelve outdoor works of art, imposing contemporary sculptures that enrich a wonderful corner of paradise where the river meets the Tyrrhenian coast.

History and art
Fiumara d’Arte is a combination of different styles and artists that gives life to truly particular achievements and wonderful examples of sculptural giants. From “The matter could not be there” to “Pyramid on the 38th parallel”, from the much discussed “Window on the sea” to “Arianna’s labyrinth”, some of these works rise to over 20 meters dominating the blue of the waters and blue of the sky.
Among the construction materials we find stone, iron, ceramic, steel, well used in the context of a visual art whose purpose is the complete respect of surrounding nature.
But who was the architect of all this? The idea came in 1982 to Antonio Presti, an Italian entrepreneur and patron who commissioned the first sculpture to the artist Pietro Consagra in honour of his late father.
Various vicissitudes and judicial disputes have compromised but never stopped the original purpose, and so the area has been embellished over the years to house the current twelve works, with the participation of various artists.
