In 1869, the French naturalist Louis De Folin was sailing the waters of the Gulf of Gabes, off the coast of Tunisia, when he picked up a shell from the seabed that he had never seen before.
He called it Ebala Gracillima: slender, coiled into a perfect spiral, with a surface that looked like it had been crafted by human hands rather than the sea. It was rare back then. It still is today.
Shell Mesh was born from that discovery. And it inherits its soul.
The handgrip develops in a sequence of convex volumes that wrap around each other like the turns of a seashell. Organic, with that naturalness that belongs to shapes created by nature.
There is nothing random in this spiral: it is the same geometry that mathematics calls the golden ratio and that the ocean has always used without knowing it.
Two endless strands of original Swarovski® crystals wrap around the handgrip, following the spiral of the volumes like ribbons of light that nature could not have imagined but that seem to belong to it by right.
It’s not decoration: it’s a precious second skin that follows the shape, enhancing it.
At the base, where the handgrip rises from the rosette, a set Swarovski® crystal completes the design like the finishing touch of a high-end piece of jewellery.
The result is something that does not exactly belong to the world of handles: it belongs to that of precious objects.
