It is a saying but also a great truth with which we Italians are very familiar. Yes, because we cannot help but gesture “to the right and to the left”.
But what may seem like senseless gestures and movements, actually express wills, feelings, opinions, emotions that we have inside and that in this way we bring to light.
Thus our new calendar is loosely inspired by one of the works of the master of programmed and kinetic art Bruno Munari: the “Supplement to the Italian Dictionary”, printed by Muggiani in 1963.
One calendar, twelve photographic shots (strictly in black and white) that portrays as many gestures that we sometimes repeat throughout the day.
Let’s start right away by presenting the first two.
To grasp
The hand is initially open, with the fingers slightly bent as if to grasp an object. The hand closes quickly into a fist, as if “grasping” something.
What do you want?
The fingers are joined with the thumb touching the fingertips. The gesture is performed by moving the wrist back and forth, up and down in a rapid and repeated movement.
